Anti-hair loss product battle.. Which one is better- Minoxidil, Nanoxidil, Procapil and Aminexil?
There are many poducts claim that; to stop hair loss and support new hair growth. But which one is better? How we can choose the right product?
Most of these products have ingredients such as: Minoxidil, Nanoxidil, Procapil and Aminexil. Let’s compare them!
Well indeed, when it comes to hair loss treatments and products that stimulate hair growth, there are four ingredients and complexes of ingredients that are most commonly used: Minoxidil, Aminexil, Nanoxidil and Procapil.
Out of these four Minoxidil is perhaps the most well known. But do you know that Minoxidil is at origin an antihypertensive vasodilator medication. Minoxidil promotes hair growth for men and women who have androgenic alopecia. This ingedient applied topically.
Minoxidil has the highest number of possible side effects comparing to Nanoxidil, Procapil and Aminexil. The most common side effects of minoxidil are:
- Burning or irritation of the eye
- Redness or irritation at the treated area
- Unwanted hair growth elsewhere on the body,
- Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching)
It also treats mostly only the vertex area. Despite these data, there are many who have had good results using it.
Nanoxidil is a new product that was developed upon Minoxidil. There is moleculer difference between these 2 products; Nanoxidil has a larger moleculer weight then Minoxidil and Nanoxidil is responsible for opening the ion channels. By this way Nanoxidil is set to open ions channels within cells and it claims to exert multiple mechanisms of action to address over a dozen triggers that lead to hair fall out.
However being developed upon Minoxidil, Nanoxidil has less side effect then Minoxidil. But we do not have enough data about long term side efects. And also we do not have much information about its efficiency.
Nanoxidil it treats not only the vertex area, but also the hairline.
It can be possible to say that Nanoxidil can perefer comparing to Minoxidil.
Procapil promotes that strengths hair and prevents hair loss naturally. In fact Procapil is a combination of three natural ingredientsbiotinyl tripeptide-1, vitaminated matrikine with apigenin and oleanolic acid from olive tree leaves. This complex of ingredients can fight the ageing process of the follicles, to prevent hair loss.
Procapil’s mechanism of action is; increase circulation (poor scalp microcirculation one of the main causes of alopecia), prevent follicle ageing and follicle atrophy caused by dihydrotestosterone, a chemical derivative of testosterone, which plays a major role in hair loss in men and women .
Procapil has no proven side effects (short or long term ). And also it can apply to entire scalp not only the vertex area.
Aminexil can be found in some topical hair loss products which have not been proven treatment to prevent hair loss. And it is mood of action smilar with Minoxidil.
Aminexil is often mixed with minoxidil. Although there is no proof it isn’t effective, being used in addition to minoxidil raises the possibility that it’s likely to be the Minoxidil that helps and not the aminexil.
But there is a good thing about Aminexil; the only known possible side effect is itching.
