DHI vs FUE

Which one is better ? DHI or FUE? These are the same methods? How different are they?..

These is the one of frequently asked questions. Many people think that these are totaly different methods.

First it is important to make definition clearly..

FUE means : Follicular Unit Extraction. Follicular unit is a hair root group which are connected at the same point to scalp and share the same blood source. At each follicular unit includes 1-4 hair. FUE is a type of hair transplant surgery that involves extracting individual hair follicles from a donor part of the body, usually the sides and back of the head.

DHI means: Direct Hair Implantation. There is no need for reception incisions or holes on the recipient area with DHI . Hair follicles/ grafts are implanted directly to the area using the DHI implanter tool.

Is DHI better then FUE? It is not quite right to make such a generalization. The right treatment must be chosen according to each patients needs. For one DHI is the best metod, for the other FUE is the most effective metods.

Who is the Best Candidate for DHI?

In İstanbul Hair Institute; we recommend DHI to who has got long hair /does not want to cut and who doest need more then 2000-2500 grafts. DHI can be a good options for these patients.
